D-Style: Top Five Disney Festival Trends

Welcome Darlings!

As the summer approaches, so does festival season!  Coachella just passed and I’m lovin’ all of the amazing trends that emerged.  Sparkles, flower crowns, it’s a girls dream come true.

After five snow storms and an infinite chain of rain here in New York, I’m ready for some sun, fun, and Disney festival trends.

You heard right.

I’ve come up with a list of the Top Eight Disney Festival Trends you can wear ever day or around the parks.  Let’s take a look!

Millennial Pink

You know Disney’s one of the first to make the millennial pink grand debut this year. I have to say, as a blue fan, I am all for this trend.  From mouse ears to spirit jerseys you know if you wear pink, it will make the boys wink.  Millennial pink is so versatile because you can find anything in your closet for it to match.  It’s the perfect colour for a day in the park and did you know you can now purchase a millennial pink milkshake to match your vibe?  How convenient for those Instagramers like me.

Flower Crown Mouse Ears

Not a day in the park goes by without seeing a ton of these DIY flower crown mouse ears.  They are totally ethereal and beyond feminine that I am crushing hard. Besides the fact you can design one based on your favorite Disney character, movie, ride, or sweet treat, some of these mouse ears go to a level of WOW factor.  I promise you, the second you wear one you will look and feel like a true goddess.  Power on, Princess.

High Waisted Shorts

This is a trend that never goes out of style. High waisted shorts are the perfect summer apparel and you’ll love it even more when your favorite mouse is on it.  Zara came out with the most adorable Mickey Mouse High Waisted Shorts that’s a must have for your closet.  If you missed the mark to buy these, there’s always a way.  Buy some Disney iron-on patches (which you can find at your local Michaels or on Etsy) and a perfect denim pair of high waisties and create your own!

Although I’m not a big fan of the bodysuit trend, I have to say the Mickey Mouse Bodysuits I’ve been seeing are binge-worthy. They make the tucking look appear effortless, and seriously, who doesn’t love effortless.  Through my experience I find if you’re going to wear a bodysuit they’re best paired with something less fitted like high waisted shorts, mom jeans, or trousers.

Hip Packs

If you’re looking for something both functional and fashionable, Disney Designer Danielle Nicole released an adorable Abu Hip Pack that’s sure to make anyone’s three wishes come true.  With an adjustable strap you can either wear it around your chest or your hip.  The possibilities are endless.

Pool Floats

What’s better than getting tan by the pool? Getting tan while lounging in your favorite Disney pool float.  The new Oh My Disney Little Mermaid Sebastian and Flounder inflatable floats are perfect for a pool party with your closest mermaids.  Top the day off with some ice-cold cocktails and you have a party fit for under the sea.

As a product of the 90’s, I know all about scrunchies. Rock a top-knot to beat the summer heat and dress it up with your favorite Mickey Pal or Disney Princess.  Scrunchies are an easy DIY project for those crafty gals out there, but for those of you who aren’t, don’t fear!  You can easily buy them from websites such as Etsy and Ebay.  Scrunchiesbysherry has tons of designs from Tinkerbell to Alice in Wonderland to Minnie Mouse.  You can have a scrunchie to match every outfit.

Let’s take a tip from Anna and Elsa here. Braids seem to be the hairstyle trend of the summer and I’m not complaining.  French braids, fishtails, they look amazing on both long and short hair.  Whether you pin them back, or let them hang loose, braids will never go out of style.  Be an ice Queen or an adventurous Princess.  You can’t go wrong with either.

Are you lovin’ these Disney festival trends as much as I am?  Let me know in the comments!
XO, S.
